Stepping
Up
To Lead

First Line Manager
Development Programme

Taking on a First Line Manager or Team Leader role is often as daunting as it is exciting. The 'Stepping Up To Lead' programme is designed to provide new or junior managers with a solid foundation on which to succeed in their roles.

'STEPPING UP TO LEAD' KEY OUTCOMES
RE-SET
RELATIONSHIPS WITH FORMER PEERS
 ACHIEVE RESULTS THROUGH OTHERS
DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED AS
FIRST LINE MANAGER

Becoming a manager for the first time comes with a unique set of challenges. If promoted internally, the first hurdle these new leaders have to overcome is to successfully re-set their relationships with their former peers, once they begin to supervise them, delegate work to them and manage their performance.

They also have to learn, often the hard way, that the results they are asked to deliver are no longer down to their own efforts, but now depend on how well they lead and manage other people.

The 'Stepping Up To Lead' programme is designed to enable new Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors to achieve the vitally important mindset shifts described above. Having built this solid foundation, the course then goes on to help delegates develop the specific managerial skills they need to be truly effective in their roles, such as delegation, feedback, performance management, communication and conflict resolution skills.
